WARNING:"Works great. I have a very old boom (2in OD). It came with my 86 mc that I brought in 1997. It didn't have any installation instructions. I filled a 5 gallon bucket with hot water from the tap soaked the gunnel saver in the hot water for a few minutes. Soaped the boom up good and slick, slipped it right on (it was tight). Quickly (before it cooled) twisted it with a large pair of channel lock pliers to get a flat side down. I don't think it can ever be moved again without cutting it off."
